NBFP - The National Board of Family Physicians, founded in 1998, Board certifies Family Physicians.
Requirements for Board Certification:
1. Completion of a 3 - year Family Practice Residency at a US hospital.
2. Must have attained over 50 CME hours in the past year.
3. Pledges to attain over 50 CME hours yearly ongoing.
4. Must have an active Medical License in at least one state (or the District of Columbia).
5. Agrees to provide proof of any of the above at any point in time.
6. Pays the membership application fee.
7. Agrees that they will lose Board Certification and be removed from the registry for violation of any of the above.
8. Acknowledges that in order to become Board Certified again, once any deficit is rectified, he/she will have to pay the membership fee again.
